“In all this, Satan is the master spirit. He has no particular regard for Sunday, but he desires that his will shall be obeyed, rather than the will of God. It was Satan that incited Adam and Eve to transgress the command of their Maker, and he has continued this work even to our own day. We see the success of his attacks upon the law of God, in the wide-spread disregard for the ancient Sabbath of Jehovah, and the well-nigh universal veneration for the institution of heathenism and papacy. And we see the terrible results, in the skepticism which everywhere prevails. The Sabbath was instituted in Eden, as a memorial of creation. It points men directly to the true God as the Maker of the heavens and the earth. Thus it stands as a mighty barrier against idolatry, atheism, and infidelity. Had the Sabbath been universally kept, not one of these evils could have gained a foot-hold in our world. There could not have been an infidel nor an idolater. “

     “Even the political regulations given to Moses when he was in secret council with Jehovah, contain important lessons for the people of every age. But the law proclaimed from Sinai in the hearing of assembled Israel, and written by the finger of God, is obligatory upon all men to the close of time.” IBID, par. 5
    “ When God commissioned Saul to utterly destroy the Amalekites, he did not leave it to Saul's judgment to destroy or keep alive as he should see fit. When he forbade our first parents to eat of the tree of knowledge, he did not leave it to them to eat or not to eat, as they pleased. When he commanded men to keep holy the seventh day, he did not make it optional with them to obey if convenient, and if not to sanctify a day of their own choosing.”  IBID, par. 6
     “Many endeavor to evade the claims of the fourth commandment by urging that the law of God was given to the Jews exclusively; that the seventh day of the week is the Jewish, while the first day is the Christian Sabbath. This distinction is not recognized in the Scriptures. There is no such contrast as is often claimed to exist between the Old and the New Testament, the law of God and the gospel of Christ, the requirements of the Jewish and those of the Christian dispensation. Every soul saved in the former dispensation was saved by Christ as verily as we are saved by him today. Patriarchs and prophets were Christians. The gospel promise was given to the first pair in Eden, when they had by transgression separated themselves from God. The gospel was preached to Abraham. The Hebrews all drank of that spiritual Rock, which was Christ. It was by Christ that the worlds were made. By Christ the law was proclaimed from Sinai. Hence, Christ is, in the fullest sense, as he declares himself to be, "Lord of the Sabbath." He made the day sacred to himself, on which to receive the worship of angels and of men.” IBID, par. 7

The Under - Shepherd’s responsibility is: ‘Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”  Isaiah 58:1  
     “How dare any, understanding the claims of the fourth commandment, trample upon its requirements? Saul stated, as an excuse for his transgression, that he "feared the people." Are there not many in our day, even among the professed ministers of Christ, who could give no better reason for their course? Though the word of God is plain, they dare not offend the prejudices or arouse the fears of their hearers; therefore they let them go on unwarned in their violation of God's law. In the day of final judgment the excuse of Saul will avail for them no more than it availed for him.”  IBID, par. 8
     "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry." Rebellion originated with Satan. Notwithstanding the exalted position which he occupied among the heavenly host, he became dissatisfied because he was not accorded supreme honor. Hence he questioned God's purposes and impugned his justice. He bent all his powers to allure the angels from their allegiance. The fact that he was an archangel, glorious and powerful, enabled him to exert a mighty influence. His complaints against God's government, at first met with no favor; yet being urged again and again, they were finally accepted by those who had before been loyal and happy subjects of the King of Heaven. There was not the shadow of justification or excuse for disaffection; but envy and jealousy, once cherished, gained a power that paralyzed reason and destroyed honor and loyalty. As the result, Satan and all his sympathizers were cast out of Heaven.” IBID, par. 9
     “In his rebellion, Satan showed contempt for the authority of God, and virtually trampled upon every precept of his law. He is the grand prototype of all transgressors. To indulge unbelief, ingratitude, apostasy, defiance of God, or enmity against him, is but to repeat the course which Satan pursued in Heaven. Rebellion against God is as directly due to Satanic influence as is the practice of witchcraft. Like witchcraft, it exerts a bewitching, deceptive power almost impossible to break. Those who set themselves against the government of God have entered into an alliance with the arch-apostate, and he will not lightly lose his prey. All his power and cunning will be exercised to captivate the senses and mislead the understanding of his victims. Everything appears to them in a false light. Under his bewitching spell they can, like our first parents, see only the great benefits to be received by transgression. To achieve the desired object, they will stop at no means, however great the danger to another or the sin to themselves.”  IBID,  par. 10
     “No stronger evidence can be given of Satan's delusive power than that many who are thus led by him deceive themselves with the belief that they are in the service of God. The Jewish scribes and elders in the days of Christ professed great zeal for the honor of God, and yet they rejected his Son. Jesus gave them the most conclusive evidence that he was the Promised One. Upon one occasion, the Spirit witnessed so powerfully to his claims that the hearts of all who were in the synagogue responded to the gracious words that proceeded from his lips. Here was the turning-point with that company. As Christ's divinity flashed through humanity, their spiritual sight was quickened. A new power of discernment and appreciation came upon them, and the conviction was almost irresistible that Jesus was the Son of God. But Satan was at hand to arouse doubts, unbelief, and pride. They steeled their hearts against the Saviour's words. As they yielded to the control of Satan, they were fired with uncontrollable rage against Jesus. With one accord they would have taken his life, had not angels interposed for his deliverance.” IBID,   par. 11
     “The same spirit still exists in the hearts of those who set themselves to follow their own perverted judgment in opposition to the will of God. The struggle between truth and error will reveal the same pride and stubbornness, and the same unreasoning hatred against the advocates of truth, as was displayed by the unbelieving Jews.”  IBID,  par. 12
     “He who could cause all the glories of earthly empires to pass before Christ in his hour of temptation, exerts a wizard-like power upon the minds of all who do not implicitly trust and obey God. It is this moral infatuation which steels their hearts against the influence of the Holy Spirit. It was this that led Korah, Dathan, and Abiram to rebel against the authority of Moses. Satan deluded them with the idea that they were opposing only a human leader, a man like themselves. But in rejecting God's chosen instrument, they rejected Christ, their invisible leader. They insulted the Spirit of God; and judgments followed close upon their sin. They were deceived by Satan, but by their own consent; because they placed themselves in his power.”  IBID,  par. 13

In the days of the apostles, witchcraft and idolatry prevailed.  In our days witchcraft is prevalent no less.  Are you affected by it and may not know it?
Here is recorded one incident involving the apostles while preaching the gosple in Ephesus:  19:24   ‘For a certain [man] named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
  19:25   Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
  19:26   Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
  19:27   So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
  19:28   And when they heard [these sayings], they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians.
19:29   And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.
  19:30   And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.
  19:31   And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring [him] that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.
  19:32   Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.
  19:33   And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence
unto the people.
  19:34   But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians.
  19:35   And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, [Ye] men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the [image] which fell down from Jupiter?
  19:36   Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.
  19:37   For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.
19:38   Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.
  19:39   But if ye inquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.
  19:40   For we are in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.
  19:41   And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.’ Acts 19:24-41

No where do we read that the apostles compromised the Christian faith by mingling the gospel with idolatry and pagan worship! Rather the record tells that the apostles preached against it:

5:19   ‘Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
  5:20   Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
  5:21   Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.’  Galations 5:19-21

Books, horoscope, palm reading, computer games and even the media is daily affected by the occult! What is our responsibility in view of this?

 6:17   Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
  6:18   And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. ‘ 2 Corinthians 6:17-18

“When the Ephesians were converted, they changed their habits and practices. Under the conviction of the Spirit of God, they acted with promptness, and laid bare all the mysteries of their witchcraft. They came and confessed, and showed their deeds, and their souls were filled with holy indignation because they had given such devotion to magic, and had so highly prized the books in which the rules of Satan's devising had laid down the methods whereby they might practice witchcraft. They were determined to turn from the service of the evil one, and they brought their costly volumes and publicly burned them. Thus they made manifest their sincerity in turning to God. . . . “ Messages to Young People, 275.1

Breaking the Spell of Satan's Sorcery


     “I would ask, Shall the magical books be burned up? In the synagogue of Satan there are places of attraction where licentiousness is fostered and indulged; but the witness is there, and an unseen visitant testifies to the deeds done in darkness. In the associations of the vain, the proud, the mirthful, Satan presides, and is the chief mover in scenes of gayety. He is there in disguise. Witchcraft is going on around us on every hand, and the world and the church are under the influence of one who will lead them to do things they never dreamed of doing.
Should they be informed of the deeds they will perform, they would be as much astonished as was Hazel when the prophet told him of his future course. . . .  {MYP 278.1}
     Every man, woman, and child that is not under the control of the Spirit of God is under the influence of Satan's sorcery, and by his words and example he will lead others away from the path of truth. When the transforming grace of Christ is upon the heart, a righteous indignation will take possession of the soul because the sinner has so long neglected the great salvation that God has provided for him. He will then surrender himself, body, soul, and spirit, to God and will withdraw from companionship with Satan, through the grace given him of God. He will, like the Ephesians, denounce sorcery, and will cut the last thread that binds him to Satan.
He will leave the banner of the prince of darkness, and will come under the bloodstained banner of Prince Emmanuel. He will burn the magical books.--The Youth's Instructor, November 16, 1893.  [MYP 278.2]

“One man still living in 1970 recalled his days in the Review pressroom where he began work at the age of 14, in 1896. He was still working there when the fire struck, and he left the building just minutes before the flames swept through it. He recalled a book on witchcraft being printed there, and a pressman printing copies of Bible Readings while spitting tobacco juice onto the press. This young man was ridiculed by other workers when he decided to be baptized. The terror engendered by the harsh manner of his superiors led him to wish that the next day would never come. There were young women workers who read proof on books that were filled with skepticism about religion and who then brought this skepticism into their talk around the office.”  5BIO 232.7
     "We have no permission from the Lord," wrote Ellen White, "to engage either in the printing or in the sale of such publications, for they are the means of destroying many souls. I know of what I am writing, for this matter has been opened before me. Let not those who believe the message for this time engage in such work, thinking to make money."--7T, p. 166.

There is great danger that our young people, those who have been privileged to have know the ways of God and present truth, becoming careless and uncommitted to the cause of the 3 angels message, will turn to the occult. Many will even go as far as joining the Laminitis, the Masson’s and other secret societies that are in opposition to our faith. To such is the record given of Manasseh:

33:1   Manasseh [was] twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
  33:2   But did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
33:6   And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.’ 2 Chronicles, 33: 1,2,6.

 “You have been moved by the Spirit of God to sever your connection with these secret societies, but Satan has worked to strengthen the ties that bind you to these associations that are forbidden of God. As you have deferred action in the matter, Satan has prepared other bands to hold you. Your obligations to God are less and less realized as you connect yourself more decidedly with associations where God does not have a controlling power. Your obligation to serve God does not diminish, but your sense of the claims of God upon you is insensibly weakened. You become more and more absorbed in these worldly associations; you are more and more firmly bound, and have less and less power to extricate yourself. I know from the light given, if you remain connected with the Free Masons, you will surely be bound up with them at last, to receive your portion with them.”  14 Manuscript Releases, 10.3

“You cannot, in your present state, distinguish the advantages of the people of God above those who do not believe the truth. You look at the few who have received the truth as being inferior; their defects are very apparent to you. Doubt and darkness are enveloping your mind, so that you do not clearly discern the things that are spiritual and eternal. If you had been walking in the light which God has given, you would long ago have broken the cords that have bound you away from Christ. You have now a work to do to sever your connection with secret societies. You can do them no good, and they can do you much harm. When you break loose from these societies, and unite fully with Christ, you will be a free man in Christ Jesus.” IBID,    11.1

“ I have been permitted to look in upon these secret societies, their feasts, their order, their works, and my prayer has been, "Hide them from my sight forever. Let me not understand more." One thing I do know, that those who remain in connection with them will be burned up with the bundles of tares, one with them in the last day.”  20 Manuscript Releases, 286.2

A Timely warning - Beware the Occult

‘And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?’ Isa. 8:19.

“Spiritualism is the masterpiece of deception. It is Satan's most successful and fascinating delusion--one calculated to take hold of the sympathies of those who have laid their loved ones in the grave. Evil angels come in the form of those loved ones, and relate incidents connected with their lives, and perform acts which they performed while living. In this way they lead persons to believe that their dead friends are angels, hovering over them, and communicating with them. These evil angels, who assume to be the deceased friends, are regarded with a certain idolatry, and with many their word has greater weight than the Word of God. Thus men and women are led to reject the truth, and give "heed to seducing spirits."  This day with God,  247.1
 The Word of God declares in positive terms that "the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun" (Eccl. 9:5, 6). This plain scripture directly contradicts the teaching of Spiritualism, and if it were heeded would save souls from the snare of the enemy.”  IBID,  247.2

 “Many are investigating Spiritualism simply from curiosity. They have no real faith in it, and would start back horrified at the idea of becoming mediums; but they are venturing on forbidden and dangerous ground. When they are fast in the toils of the deceiver, they find they are in the power of him who makes the most abject slaves of his servants, and nothing can deliver them but the power of God. The only safety for us is in trusting implicitly and following faithfully the instruction of the Word of God. The Bible is the only chart that marks out the narrow path which shuns the pitfalls of destruction. . . .  IBID, 247.3

 What love, what wonderful love, that God bears with the perversity of His people, and sends help to every soul that desires to do His will, and forsake sin! If man will but cooperate with the agencies of Heaven, he may come off more than conqueror. Fallen creatures as we are, capable of the most revolting crimes, yet we may become victors. Halloween - The Occult Agenda  Exposed Part 01

In October 1997, I was on a personal errand in Nampa, Idaho. While driving on 12th Avenue South an advertisement caught my attention: “Halloween Dance - all are invited” It shocked me greatly because it was displayed in the street sign at the Catholic Diocese!

What is the meaning of this so highly celebrated pagan holiday?  Halloween (or Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, which commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films. It’s origins is uncertain but most historians would agree that: its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona,the goddess of fruits and seeds (Pomona was a goddess of fruitful abundance in ancient Roman religion and myth),  or in the festival of the dead
( Festival of the Dead is held by many cultures throughout the world in honor or recognition of deceased members of the community, generally occurring after the harvest in August, September, October, or November. In JapaneseBuddhist custom the festival honoring the departed (deceased) spirits of one's ancestors is known as Bon Festival. In Inca religion the entire month of November is 'Ayamarca', which translates to Festival of the Dead), called Parentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain, whose original spelling was Samuin (pronounced sow-an or sow-in)".[1] The name of the festival historically kept by the Gaels and Celts in the British Isles which is derived from Old Irish and means roughly "summer's end".[1][2][3]
  According to the Oxford Dictionary of English folk lore: "Certainly Samhain was a time for festive gatherings, and medieval Irish texts and later Irish, Welsh, and Scottish folklore use it as a setting for supernatural encounters, but there is no evidence that it was connected with the dead in pre-Christian times, or that pagan religious ceremonies were held." [4]  The Irish myths which mention Samhain were written in the 10th and 11th centuries by Christian monks. This is around 200 years after the Catholic church inaugurated All Saints Day and at least 400 years after Ireland became Christian. [4]

In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints and martyrs; the holiday, All Saints’ Day, incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. Since ancient times, ghost stories—tales of spirits who return from the dead to haunt the places they left behind—have figured prominently in the folklore of many cultures around the world. Holidays such as: Easter, Halloween or Christmas for that matter have no better origins than paganism-a religious system contrary to God the creator of Heaven and Earth.
“In ancient times the Druids celebrated a festival in honor of their sun god, which today we call Halloween. The night of October 31, was a special night for them. But their idea of "trick or treat," as well as the use of the "jack o' lantern," was definitely not the very same as it is now. Gruesome and satanic activities were involved in these observances in ancient times. Yet, we now see these things as innocent, even though in the past they were all associated with pagan and spiritualistic rituals. Certainly there is nothing Christian whatsoever about little children dressing up like witches and warlocks. God's command unto the faithful is:
 "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God." Is it right for Christians to celebrate pagan holidays?
What does the Bible say?
44:7   Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye [this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
  44:8   In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
  44:9   Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem? Jeremiah 44:7-9

“FOR MANY years Christmas and other major holidays, such as Easter,Halloween, etc., have been portrayed as having a Christian origin. But is this true? Is it possible that we have been deceived into believing that pagan customs and traditions of the past have their roots in the Christian church? Is it possible that many well-known Christian holidays or so-called "holy days" have their origins in something or someone other than Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life? Are innocent believers giving life to ancient satanic practices? Should Christians participate in  Halloween? Does the new testament allow for a compromise with pagan traditions and rituals?
 The Bible says:
  10:14   “Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
 10:15   I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
  10:16   The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
 10:17   For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
  10:18   Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
  10:19   What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
  10:20   But I [say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.”  1 Corinthians 10:14-20

How about the SDA, should they compromise on this point? What has the Lord reveled?

“The Need of Guidance in Holiday Observance.-- I saw that our holidays should not be spent in patterning after the world, yet they should not be passed by unnoticed, for this will bring dissatisfaction to our children. On these days when there is danger that our children will be exposed to evil influences and become corrupted by the pleasures and excitement of the world, let the parents study to get up something to take the place of more dangerous amusements. Give your children to understand that you have their good and happiness in view.
 Through the observance of holidays the people both of the world and of the churches have been educated to believe that these lazy days are essential to health and happiness, but the results reveal that they are full of evil.”  Adventist Home 472.2
     “We have tried earnestly to make the holidays as interesting as possible to the youth and children, while changing this order of things. Our object has been to keep them away from scenes of amusement among unbelievers.”  IBID, 472.3

 “Shall the Angel Record, "A Day Lost?"--After a day of pleasure seeking is ended, where is the satisfaction to the pleasure seeker? As Christian workers, whom have they helped to a better, higher, and purer life? What would they see if they should look over the record the angel wrote? A day lost! To their own souls a day lost, a day lost in the service of Christ, because no good was accomplished. They may have other days but never that day which was idled away in cheap, foolish talk, of girls with boys, and boys with girls.” IBID, 472.4

DECEPTIONS OF PAGANIZM AND THE TRUTH ABOUT  DEATH

“Under the rule of the Romish Church, the people were sunken in poverty, and ground down by oppression. They were destitute of the Scriptures, and having a religion of mere signs and ceremonies, which conveyed no light to the mind, they were returning to the superstitious beliefs and pagan practices of their heathen ancestors. “ GC, 243

“What was the origin of the great apostasy? How did the church first depart from the simplicity of the gospel?--By conforming to the practices of paganism, to facilitate the acceptance of Christianity by the heathen. The apostle Paul declared, even in his day, "The mystery of iniquity doth already work." [2 THESS. 2:7.] During the lives of the apostles the church remained comparatively pure. "But toward the latter end of the second century most of the churches assumed a new form, the first simplicity disappeared; and insensibly, as the old disciples retired to their graves, their children, along with new converts . . . came forward and new-modeled the cause."  IBID, 384

“The friends of the righteous dead should not sorrow as those who lose their loved ones and have no hope in Jesus Christ, and who are not cheered by the immortal future beyond the resurrection of the just. Paul addressed the Thessalonians as
those who had turned from the practices of heathen idolatry to the service of Christ. Vague heathen ideas concerning the state of the dead were more or less mingled with the new faith. But those who clearly saw the truth of the resurrection from the dead, in the doctrine preached by Paul, were greatly comforted. The cheering hope which they thus received, that the righteous dead would rise from their graves to a holy, happy immortal life, was in marked contrast with their former pagan ideas of death. For they had believed that there was no future life, no happy meeting with those whom they had loved and lost on earth.”  Sketches fro the Life of Paul, 111.4

THE TRUE SPIRIT BEHIND THE PAPACY:

“Rome had fixed her eyes on Britain, and resolved to bring it under her supremacy. In the sixth century her missionaries undertook the conversion of the heathen Saxons. They were received with favor by the proud barbarians, and they induced many thousands to profess the Romish faith. As the work progressed, the papal leaders and their converts encountered the primitive Christians.” Great Controversy, 62.3
                                                                           
“A striking contrast was presented. The latter were simple, humble, and scriptural in character, doctrine, and manners, while the former manifested the superstition, pomp, and arrogance of popery. The emissary of Rome demanded that these Christian churches acknowledge the supremacy of the sovereign pontiff. The Britons meekly replied that they desired to love all men, but that the pope was not entitled to supremacy in the church, and they could render to him only that submission which was due to every follower of Christ. Repeated attempts were made to secure their allegiance to Rome; but these humble Christians, amazed at the pride displayed by her emissaries, steadfastly replied that they knew no other master than Christ. Now the true spirit of the papacy was revealed. Said the Romish leader, "If you will not receive brethren who bring you peace, you shall receive enemies who will bring you war. If you will not unite with us in showing the Saxons the way of life, you shall receive from them the stroke of death." These were no idle threats. War, intrigue, and deception were employed against these witnesses for a Bible faith, until the churches of Britain were destroyed, or forced to submit to the authority of the pope.”  IBID, 88 62.4

 “Through the great powers controlled by paganism and the papacy, symbolized by the dragon and the leopard-like beast, Satan for many centuries destroyed God's faithful witnesses. Under the dominion of Rome, they were tortured and slain for more than a thousand years; but the papacy was at last deprived of its strength, and forced to desist from persecution. [REV. 13:3, 10.] At that time the prophet beheld a new power coming up, represented by the beast with lamb-like horns. The appearance of this beast and the manner of its rise seem to indicate that the power which it represents is unlike those brought to view under the preceding symbols. The great kingdoms that have ruled the world obtained their dominion by conquest and revolution, and they were presented to the prophet Daniel as beasts of prey, rising when the "four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea." [DAN. 7:2.] But the beast with horns like a lamb is seen "coming up out of the earth;" [REV. 13:11.] signifying that instead of overthrowing other powers to establish itself, the nation thus represented arose in territory previously unoccupied, and grew up gradually and peacefully.” Spiritual Gifts, vol. 04, 276
 “Here is a striking figure of the rise and growth of our own nation. And the lamb-like horns, emblems of innocence and gentleness, well represent the character of our government, as expressed in its two fundamental principles, Republicanism and Protestantism. The Christian exiles who first fled to America, sought an asylum from royal oppression and priestly intolerance, and they determined to establish a government upon the broad foundation of civil and religious liberty. These principles are the secret of our power and prosperity as a nation. Millions from other lands have sought our shores, and the United States has risen to a place among the most powerful nations of the earth. “ IBID,277.1
 “But the stern tracings of the prophetic pencil reveal a change in this peaceful scene. The beast with lamb-like horns speaks with the voice of a dragon, and "exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him." The spirit of persecution manifested by paganism and the papacy is again to be revealed. Prophecy declares that this power will say "to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast." [REV. 13:14.] The image is made to the first or leopard-like beast, which is the one brought to view in the third angel's message. By this first beast is represented the Roman Church, an ecclesiastical body clothed with civil power, having authority to punish all dissenters. The image to the beast represents another religious body clothed with similar power. The formation of this image is the work of that beast whose peaceful rise and mild professions render it so striking a symbol of the United States. Here is to be found an image of the papacy. When the churches of our land, uniting upon such points of faith as are held by them in common, shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and sustain their institutions, then will Protestant America have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy. Then the true church will be assailed by persecution, as were God's ancient people. Almost every century furnishes examples of what bigotry and malice can do under a plea of serving God by protecting the rights of Church and State. Protestant churches that have followed in the steps of Rome by forming alliance with worldly powers have manifested a similar desire to restrict liberty of conscience. In the seventeenth century thousands of non-conformist ministers suffered under the rule of the Church of England. Persecution always follows religious favoritism on the part of secular governments. “ IBID,  277.2
     “The beast with lamb-like horns commands "all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads; and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." [REV. 13:16, 17.] This is the mark concerning which the third angel utters his warning. It is the mark of the first beast, or the papacy, and is therefore to be sought among the distinguishing characteristics of that power. The prophet Daniel declared that the Roman Church, symbolized by the little horn, was to think to change times and laws, [DAN. 7:25.] while Paul styled it the man of sin, [2 THESS. 2:3, 4.] who was to exalt himself above God. Only by changing God's law could the papacy exalt itself above God; whoever should understandingly keep the law as thus changed would be giving supreme honor to that power by which the change was made. Such an act of obedience to papal laws would be a mark of allegiance to the pope in the place of God.”  IBID, 279.1
     “The papacy has attempted to change the law of God. The second commandment, forbidding image worship, has been dropped from the law, and the fourth commandment has been so changed as to authorize the observance of the first instead of the seventh day as the Sabbath. But papists urge as a reason for omitting the second commandment, that it is unnecessary, being included in the first, and that they are giving the law exactly as God designed it to be understood. This cannot be the change foretold by the prophet. An intentional, deliberate change is brought to view: "He shall think to change times and laws." The change in the fourth commandment exactly fulfills the prophecy. For this change the only authority claimed is that of the church. Here the papal power openly sets itself above God.”  IBID, 279.2
     “The claim so often put forth, that Christ changed the Sabbath, is disproved by his own words. In his sermon on the mount he declared: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven." [MATT. 5:17-19.]  IBID, 280.1
     “Roman Catholics acknowledge that the change of the Sabbath was made by their church; and they cite this change as evidence of the authority of the church to legislate in divine things, and declare that Protestants, by observing the Sabbath as thus changed, are recognizing her power. The Roman Church has not relinquished her claim to supremacy; and when the world and the Protestant churches accept a Sabbath of her creating, while they reject the Bible Sabbath, they virtually admit this assumption. They may claim the authority of apostles and Fathers for the change; but in so doing they ignore the very principle which separates them from Rome,--that "the Bible, and the Bible only, is the religion of Protestants." The papist can see that they are deceiving themselves, willingly closing their eyes to the
facts in the case. As the Sunday institution gains favor, he rejoices, feeling assured that it will eventually bring the whole Protestant world under the banner of Rome.”  IBID, 280.2
     “The fourth commandment, which Rome has endeavored to set aside, is the only precept of the decalogue that points to God as the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and thus distinguishes the true God from all false gods. The Sabbath was instituted to commemorate the work of creation, and thus to direct the minds of men to the true and living God. The fact of his creative power is cited throughout the Scriptures as proof that the God of Israel is superior to heathen deities. Had the Sabbath always been kept, man's thoughts and affections would have been led to his Maker as the object of reverence and worship, and there would never have been an idolater, an atheist, or an infidel.”  IBID, 281.1

Vamos nos mudar para o campo?!

O campeão ali está mesmo bem adestrado nas profecias de Apocalipse? Confesso que me considerava um tanto quanto instruído nelas ... ehehehe... até que ouvi uns sermões do Pr. Norberto Restrepo e do Pr. Ruben Molina! No YouTube há mais que três dezenas deles.

Refiro-me à Apoc. 12.15-16:

"E a serpente lançou da sua boca, atrás da mulher, água como um rio, para fazer que ela fossearrebatada pela corrente. A terra, porém acudiu à mulher; e a terra abriu a boca, e tragou o rio que o dragão lançara da sua boca."

O entendimento tradicional, em nosso meio ASD, é que a 'terra', que socorre a igreja, tratar-se-ia dos EUA -- o 'mundo novo!' --, que teria acolhido os cristãos, fugitivos da perseguição romana, vindos da Europa. Como se evidenciará a seguir, essa compreensão não merece prosperar!

 

Haja visto que -- como é sobejamente conhecido em nosso meio -- no versículo 14 de Apoc. 12 há referência aos 1260 anos -- finalizados em 1798! -- e, nesse ano, cessou a perseguição romana. Os cristãos fugitivos que se deslocaram da Europa para os EUA -- devido à perseguição da ICAR -- já o tinham feito bem ANTES de 1798! Os que o fizeram após esse ano já não precisavam mais fugir, pois Napoleão fizera ruir a hegemonia da igreja romana.

 

Assim, os dois versículos acima tratam mesmo é do período de relativa paz em que a humanidade vem vivendo a partir da queda do poder papal até os nossos dias. Nesse período não houve -- e não está havendo -- perseguição de espada, de matança contra os cristãos,movida pela besta. Em relação ao papado, os dois versículos acima encontram seu paralelo no período do 'não é' de Apoc. 17.8. Sabe-se que o 'mas aparecerá' de Apoc. 17.8 refere-se à próxima, terrível e eminente perseguição aos fiéis ASDs, descrita tbém em Apoc. 12.17, que é o seu paralelo. Estamos de acordo?

Essa 'água como um rio', oriunda da boca da serpente, é uma figura simbolizando a'onda de corrupção, ilegalidade, banditismo, imoralidade, etc., etc. etc.'., que vem se avolumando e crescendo exponencialmente nos dias atuais. Não se trata de guerra de matanças! Trata-se da corrupção em suas múltiplas variantes. Essa 'onda' vem com o propósito de arrebatar a igreja,corrompendo-a! Não vem com o objetivo de matá-la e, sim de arrebatá-la. Sabe-se que o diabo mata apenas quando não conseguiu adesão ou apoio à sua política. E é o que ele vai fazer logo mais!

 

Mas para que a verdadeira IASD não sejaarrebatada pelo rio da serpente a terra socorre a mulher! Bendita realidade! A'mulher' atende à voz do Espírito Santo, que assim passou a adverti-la: "Saí das cidades, saí das cidades!" é a mensagem do Senhor que me foi dada.' EGW, Vida no Campo, pág. 35.

 

Os cristãos, que não se deslocarem das cidades para viverem no campo com suas famílias, vão acabar por serem 'engolidos'pelo 'rio de corrupção'.

 

Há, em nosso meio ASD, outra compreensão errônea e refere-se a mudar-se com a família para o campo TÃO LOGO SAIA O DECRETO DOMINICAL NOS EUA! Acreditei assim até a poucos dias atrás! Ledo engano, gente boa. Ledo engano! Observe porque:

 

Se um de nós ficarmos aguardando para se deslocar para o campo, aguardando para fazê-lo após sair, nos EUA, o decreto de santificação do Domingo... ali já não vai mais ser-lhe permitido mudar-se para o campo. E isso é por esta razão, ensinada pelo Pr Ruben Molina:

De fato, EGW escreveu isto:

Não está muito distante o tempo em que, como os antigos discípulos, seremos forçados a buscar refúgio em lugares desolados e solitários. Como o cerco de Jerusalém pelos exércitos romanos era o sinal de fuga para os cristãos judeus,assim o arrogar-se nossa nação [EUA] o poderno decreto, que torna obrigatório o dia de repouso papal, será uma advertência para nós. Será então tempo de deixar as grandes cidades,passo preparatório ao sair das menores para lares retirados em lugares solitários entre as montanhas.Testemunhos Seletos, vol. 2, pág. 166.

Eventos Finais, pág. 121.

Note bem, por obséquio, ô campeão: EGW acima está se referindo aoprimeiro cerco de Jerusalém, pois -- como vc lembra -- houve dois cercos: o primeiro sob o comando do general Céstio, e o segundo, pelo general Tito. EGW está aqui advertindo-nos a sair ao campo logo a seguir ao primeirocerco e não aosegundo!

Ela escreveu o acima alguns anos antes de 1888! Note bem isso, por favor!

 

Recorde-se de que, na época de 1888, em alguns Estados dos EUA houve, sim, a decretação da santificação do Domingo! E tbém houve alguns ASDs que foram presos devido a essas leis ESTADUAIS. E houve outros que perderam bens devido a elas. E, a respeito dessa ocasião, EGW deu recomendações especificas aos irmãos, como vc pode facilmente pesquisar e comprovar nos escritos dela.

 

E, mesmo ao ter-se concluída a Conferência de Mineápolis 1888, o Pr Jones -- um dos dois que nos trouxeram a mensagem de COMO se faz para cumprir perfeitamente a Lei de Deus pela fé no poder da Palavra de Deus, citada no momento de cada tentação -- dirigiu-se direto ao Senado norte-americano a fim de lutar com o intuito de que o Decreto Dominical não fosse promulgado a nível federal, nacional. E obteve sucesso: o decreto ficou parado e não foi promulgado ... exatamente porque a liderança da IASD rejeitou a mensagem de 1888 que teria preparado um povo ASD para receber a Jesus e dar ao Pai o testemunho de que Ele AINDA está necessitando. Daí afrouxou-se os decretos dominicais estaduais e não saiu o federal até os nossos dias!

 

Como fizemos referência acima, todos nos lembramos que houve dois cercos de Jerusalém perto dos anos 70 AD. Um dos cercos foi dirigido pelo general romano Céstio e outro pelo general romano Tito.

 

Céstio, após ter cercado a cidade, sem razão aparente ordenou a retirada do exército. Foi isso, obviamente, a intervenção divina a fim de facilitar a fuga dos cristãos. Esses, lembrando-se das palavras de Jesus em Mat. 24.15-16, saíram TODOS, enquanto o exército dos israelitas, mal-entendendo que Jeová estaria lhes dando a vitória sobre os romanos, saiu ao encalço daquele exército em retirada. Triste sorte!

 

Logo a seguir o general Tito assumiu o comando do exército romano, cercou Jerusalém ... e ninguém mais pôde sair dela!!! Terrível! Daí as mães trocarem os filhos e os comeram. Horrível.

 

Como se sabe e tbém estão no texto de EGW acima, as palavras do Senhor em Mat.24.15-16, aplicam-se tanto à Jerusalém nos anos 70 AD, como ao povo ASD, agora no final dos tempos. Assim, ô gente boa, queira observar com muito carinho e atenção que o 'Céstio' dos tempos atuais foi a promulgação do decreto em alguns Estados americanos, perto do ano de 1888, acima referido e que não deu em nada.

 

Assim, após 1888 EGW passou a insistir para que o nosso povo ASD se deslocasse com suas famílias para o campo! Entretanto esses apelos de EGW foram quase que totalmente desprezados. Pouquíssimos saíram. E nós, ASDs, -- como eu o fiz até a poucos dias atrás -- em geral, confiamos que sairemos das cidades para os camposquando sair o próximo decreto. Ali já vai ser tarde! O próximo decreto dominical -- e que está eminente -- será o ' Tito' moderno. E, quando ele for promulgado, cumprir-se-ão as seguintes palavras do Esp. Profecia:

‘Dentro em breve haverá tal luta e confusão nas cidades, que os que as quiserem abandonar não o poderão fazer.’ Mensagens Escolhidas, vol. 2, pág. 142.

 

Como se sabe, a onda de assaltos se espalhará pelo globo todo. E é de se esperar que as autoridades tomem alguma providência quanto à segurança dos que habitam nos campos. Também aqui no Brasil, o aumento dos assaltos à propriedades rurais logo mais, provavelmente, forçará as autoridades a fazeremuma lei proibindo-se que se façam mais casas de moradias nas áreas rurais. Aliás, lei semelhante vigora na Alemanha já há muito tempo. Lá o povo da área rural obrigatoriamente mora em povoados e mais povoados. Mas nenhum alemão pode construir casa para morar na própria propriedade rural. Nem ao menos uma piscina pode um proprietário rural lá construir no seu próprio campo!

 

Bem, já no último Show Rural em Cascavel, ouvi as autoridades da nossa região -- Oeste do Paraná -- apresentar ao nosso Gov. Beto Richa forte e emocionada reclamação quanto à ineficiência das Patrulhas Rurais em protegerem os que moram no campo!!!

 

Em todas as nações, bem como aqui no Brasil, é muito provável que as autoridades irão tomar a decisão de proibir que os da cidade se mudem para o campo,visando dar ao povo do campo uma proteção melhor do que a que lhes é hoje oferecida, por exemplo, pelas Patrulhas Rurais. Porque, obviamente, é impensável instalar policiais permanentemente em cada propriedade rural!

 

Ao ser feita tal lei, obviamente os que estiverem JÁ morando no campo poderão, a critério de cada um deles, permanecer lá no campo até que desejarem ... mas os que quiserem se mudar da cidade para o campo estarão proibidos de assim proceder ou de fazer casas lá, sob o pretexto da insegurança, devido aos incontidos assaltos e à bandidagem. Assim essa lei 'enforcaria' o povo, forçando-os a viver nas cidades, e nessas a corrupção e assaltos se tornarão indescritíveis, conforme o alerta acima, vindo da pena de EGW. É a hipótese em que estamos apostando.

 

E, como a serpente não conseguirá -- mediante a 'onda de corrupção' -- corromper a verdadeira IASD [notadamente os ASDS do movimento 88] que estará TODA vivendo no campo, buscará conseguir destruí-la mediante a espada, conforme descrito em Apoc. 12.17.

 

Outra conclusão: não sobrará nenhum fiel ASD que não foi 'socorrido pela terra'! Significa que todos terão se deslocado ao campo. E o tempo urge! Amém?

Portanto, gente boa ... vamos fazer mudança para o campo ... enquanto se pode!?
